I got the results of the breast sonogram back and they were normal, thank God. Unfortunately the cervical colposcopy/biopsy is going to have to be put off until at least some time in May, possibly early June due to the change in my insurance plans. The doctor I had originally booked does not take my current insurance (or the new one), so I have to cancel that appointment. The current insurance is in effect through the end of April so presumably that means the new insurance will go into effect May 1st (hopefully I will have ID cards by then). Until I have ID cards and proof of coverage I can’t book an appointment with the new GYN/Oncologist, and THAT doctor has a 6 week wait. So that would put me somewhere mid June unless I can get a cancellation. Which sucks since my current primary care physician tells me I should have this done right away. The insurance companies don’t give a rat’s ear when I try to explain that. I just keep chasing my tail. It’s all really draining. I have gotten to the point where I realize I’ve done all I can, I have to let go and let God. If He brings me to it, He will bring me through it.
On a lighter note, I finally got a chance to upload most of the photos I took last weekend at our church family retreat upstate. It was really good to get away, an amazingly we all survived the car ride together without any bruises. This was the first time in several years that we have all traveled together. Normally my older daughter rides up with another family, but they did not attend this year. I only have a 5 passenger sedan and there were 5 of us so there was no spare room to stretch out, and no where to go to get away from each other if they didn’t get along.
My older daughter turned 16 on March 7th and all she wanted for her birthday was an iPod, so she would have something to help her survive the trip in the back seat with her brother. I could understand and relate so I made sure she got that iPod. Her brother had his Game Boy and my little girl had coloring books and paper dolls… she is still easy to please.
There was a foot of snow on the ground when we got there, which was melting so the trails were filled with too much snow and mud to hike. Those of us who enjoyed hiking stuck to the paved roads. We only used the pool once since we arrived later than we expected to Friday evening. We had several worship services, bible studies and time for games. Mom and I played Mexican Train with some of the other ladies. My little girl made friends with another 6 yr old girl from a family who turned out to be from our area. They played most of the weekend together.
Here is a link to my photo album from our trip. Once you are in the album you can click the link to “view as a slideshow.”

I'm glad the breast sonongram was clear (and that you survived the family retreat) - the insurance situation must be very aggravating with the other things though.
Hi Laura ---- Glad everything is status quo.
