Friday night there was a spaghetti dinner and DJ dance at my son’s school. It was very foggy out but we decided to walk over anyway for a bit. My son doesn’t eat pasta or dance but he wanted to go and hang out with some of his friends. I brought my little girl since last time they had the fall festival she had really enjoyed dancing to the DJ. This time it was a little different. We ate first and chatted with a few friends in the cafeteria. Then I strolled over with my little girl into the gym where the DJ was. My little girl started crying and had her hand over her ears; she was really scared. I think the bass was too loud for her. My son came over and was immediately protective of her, ordering me to take her out of the gym. I told him it would be okay, that I would get her to calm down and show her it was all right.
We went up and sat in the bleachers for a little while. She sat in my lap for a few songs and then decided she wanted to sit next to me. Then this little boy came over to us. He was the SAME little boy who had danced with my little girl at the fall festival. Only then he had just pulled her out onto the floor and hadn’t spoken. This time he talked to her, about wanting to dance with her. So I asked her if she wanted to dance with him and she said yes! It was soooo cute LOL. She got over her fear then real fast. I brought her down on the dance floor and let her dance with the little boy while I got my camera out quickly. I took some cute photos and some video. Once she got started dancing she didn’t want to stop. The video below was taken at the end of the night. My son was mad because I let my little girl hug his arch-enemies LOL.
It snowed here yesterday and we have lots of ice left on the roads. I was amazed at how fast people were driving anyway.
My car has ABS and traction control and I was still sliding. Ash wanted me to take her to the mall today but I told her I wasn’t going anywhere that I didn’t have to go. I have to go for my brain MRI tomorrow morning, so they can see if there is really anything rattling around up there.
I’ll have to pick up my mom earlier so she can watch my little girl for me. I don’t want to ask her to drive on the ice.
I think I may ask her to watch my son tomorrow evening too, while I bring my daughter to her therapy appointment. There is a camera shop in the same town; it’s the one where I bought my new digital camera right before Christmas. I want to go back there to buy my son a digital camera
for his birthday. He was in the store when I bought mine and really liked the Olympus IR-500 so I think that is the one I will get for him. He was able to pick it up and use it in the store without any trouble and it was a pretty good value for the money.
I’m trying to get some laundry
done this evening… it’s one of my least favorite chores (right up there with dishes) and I only do it when someone runs out of underwear or has absolutely nothing left to wear to school. I will go so far as to buy new clothes to avoid doing laundry. There, now you all know my DIRTY secret. Sorry, couldn’t resist that awful pun. So far I’ve gotten two loads completed and the third is in the dryer. Well most of it is… one of my son’s hooded sweatshirts had to be rinsed again because it had lint all over it… did I mention I hate laundry? To make matters worse I’m on the 2nd floor and the machines are in the basement… so everything has to be lugged up and down. And the fluorescent lights decided they don’t want to work right… they will only flicker over the laundry area, so I can’t tell if anything is stained or not. So before I put anything in the dryer I have to carry it upstairs to check to see if stains are out. Did I happen to mention that I REALLY HATE LAUNDRY!!!??? Oh yes, that box of Calgon would fit in well here too…

This is a text I came across while looking for my Calgon image… I had found it years ago and thought it was SOOOO appropriate for mothers everywhere!!! This time I am going to save it and post it on my bathroom door!
CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!
ATTENTION CHILDREN!! THE BATHROOM DOOR IS CLOSED!!
Please do not stand here and talk, whine or ask questions. Wait til I get out.
If you have followed me down the hall talking, and are still talking as you face this closed door, please turn around and walk away.
Yes, it is locked. I want it that way.
It is not broken. I am not trapped. And you do not have to scream, “Are you ok?” every five minutes.
I know I have left it unlocked, and even open at times, since you were born, because I was afraid some horrible tragedy might occur while I was in there. But it’s been 10 years and I want some PRIVACY.
Do not ask me how long I will be. I will come out when I am done.
Do not bring the phone to the bathroom door.
Do not go running back to the phone yelling, “She’s in the BATHROOM!”
Do not begin to fight as soon as I go in.
Do not stick your little fingers under the door and wiggle them. This was only funny when you were two.
Do not slide pennies, Legg-os, or notes under the door.
No, I am not reading a book. I know Dad calls it the Reading Room, but I am not reading!
And yes, I still love you and have not forgotten how your face looks!

ROFL I LOVE that text you found! It is perfect! I SO feel your hate about the laundry. My laundry usually piles up for 2 weeks before I finally get around to doing it. *sigh* And I don't have to lug mine down to the basement. UGH! How awful! Hope you are having a good week and that your MRI went ok. **HUGS**
I'm glad your little girl ended up having fun - it seems that sometimes, they need time to adjust and see how everyone else is getting on.
